Happy Easter!

We had such a fun Easter this year and what wonderful weather!  We were able to see the Easter Bunny at the Detroit Zoo.  Kids did take a picture but as you can see, they were a little unsure of the big guy in the furry suit!  Lance and Layla did so good at church and brunch with Grandma, Grandpa and Great Grandma Kiesling.  We got to sing Happy Birthday since it was her 86th birthday too!  We went to Mimi and Papas for an afternoon of outdoor fun.  It was so much fun picking up all the eggs and going for tractor ride with our cousin Shelby.

Happy New Year! 20 months old!

It has been quite awhile, I feel like I'm behind on everthing.  I can't believe how busy they keep me now.  We took a trip to Florida and Disney in November.  It was quite interesting with two 18 month olds and Layla was teething four molars!  We were lucky enough to stay at my in laws family members lovely condo and visit with cousins Shelby and Sam.  Christmas came real quick after that.  L&L got fun new and much needed toys from Santa.  They didnt want to sit on Santas lap this year but like to say his name.  Everyone seemed to have gotten sick this season but now we are better and ready for the new year ahead of us.

At 20 months old they are exploding with new words, they are like sponges!  Lance enjoys doing his wooden puzzles daily and is quite good at them.  Layla likes to drive him crazy by running away with the pieces!  Layla likes reading her books and of course dancing whenever she can.  Its so nice they can try to communicate what they want and I can actually understand them!  They ask for crackers and if you ask them something they can shake their head yes and say no.  Layla loves to say snow and look outside at it, she calls it "Knooow".

Some developmental things we are working are Layla biting Lance.  We think its a defense for her but we
are working on it.  Luckily Lance is pretty gentle and does not hit her or bite her back.  We are working on trying to get Lance not to sit on his knees with his rear between his legs.  We have to say "Criss Cross Apple Sauce"  everytime we see him do it.  He actually knows now and fixes it when he hears that.

Some fun recent words they both say :  Thank you, Please, MoMo (our dog), Cracker, Bath, Down, Eat.
Layla has taken off with her words and says some cute things like : Meatball, Pizza, Bite (almost asking for permission before she does it??)  Knooowman (snowman).  When she really likes something she says "Oh wow!".

We are starting swim class this month and I think they will enjoy it.  We have set up a new play area down stairs and plan on doing some arts and crafts this winter.  Not going outside we get a little stir crazy.

Fall Fun!

Got dress up for the Sterling Heights Childrens Halloween Party.

We try to practice Trick or Treating with our candy buckets.  Found some leaves to play with!

17 Months....So Soon?

Just felt like we had their 1st birthday and here we are almost at the half year mark.  I can believe the changes they have made in the past 4 months.  From walking, talking, favorite movie Cars and figuring out shape puzzles.  They are up to 7 teeth each and Lance has had another hair cut.  They love to dance and Layla loves to do the motions to Itsy Bitsy Spider, Wheels on the Bus, and Patty Cake.  Lance loves to walk around outside and of course play with the ball.  He stands at the door wall saying "side, side".  Favorite toys right now:  Blocks, cups, balls, shape sorter, ball popper and cars.  We watch Cars atleast 2 times a day.  Lance actually says "Mcqueen" and Layla always points and says "car, car".  Layla knows the sounds of a doggy, piggy (does the face to match), and lion.  They are starting to become picky about what they eat, some favorites are bananas, raisins, cheesy tots, nuggets, and pizza!  Still a 6 lbs difference.  Layla is in a size 9 months and Lance is in 18 months.  Here are the words they are saying:
